CS2: Insane Luck For xQc On The First Day

CS2 is out and xQc starts by getting some of the most valuable skins in the game unboxed and in upgrade contracts. Let's take a look at what he pulled and how much it is worth!

On the first day of CS2 being released, Canadian Streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel tested his luck. And he was rewarded so good, some even speculate it being rigged. Let's take a look at what he pulled and what it is worth.

xQc's Insane Luck On CS2's Release Day

xQc started off with opening some chests. He opened a variety of chests he had left on his account, including a Chroma 2 chest. Not only did he get a knife, but he got an extremely rare one. Knifes have a 0.26% chance of appearing in a chest, but he got it in Factory New, the best condition skins can be in.

Additionally, it is a Karambit, one of the most loved knife in CS history. The skin he got on it? Doppler. This skin can be split into multiple variants. He got a Phase 4 Doppler, which is known for its dark blue and black patterns. Although it is one of the less valuable Doppler finishes, the knife is still worth a ton of cash.

It is hard to pinpoint the cheapest offer for skins with such a price tag. CSFloat, one of the biggest Counter-Strike databases including many selling websites, has a Karambit Doppler Phase 4 in Factory New at $1400 as the cheapest price.

xQc's Trade Up Contract Luck

But that's not it. He later on did some Trade Up Contracts, where you put 10 Skins of the same rarity into it, and you get one skin from the rarity above it. He did some really risky trade ups, yet they worked well for him.

CS2 AWP Dlore

First, he tried getting an AWP Dragon Lore, the most prestigious skin in Counter-Strike's history. He selects 9 “cheap” weapons from the “classified” rarity (the second highest), those combined cost him $350. On top he selects one M4A1-S Knight from the same Collection as the Dragon Lore, where prices begin at the $3k mark. He has a 10% chance for a Dragon Lore and a lot of profit and a 90% chance of failure.

And he lands it. The AWP Dragon Lore is in an almost perfect condition and therefore worth at least $20k, very likely more.

He tried another risky Trade Up including two skins worth thousands of dollars each and have a 20% chance to make a big profit. He either gets another Factory New Dragon Lore, he gets an AWP Gungnir in Factory New or lose a couple of grands. And of course, he won. xQc did not only pull the first Dragon Lore but also the first Gungnir in CS2.

This AWP is in a superb condition, even in the Factory New segment. It would rank at place 21 in the ranking for the Gungnirs with the best condition on FloatDB. This skin is worth more than $16000. This man has some crazy luck.

But he isn't done yet. The last successful trade up he pulled off wasn't for the most expensive gun, but still it was probably the riskiest one he did. He attempted to get a StatTrak AK47 Fire Serpent, the most expensive AK47 on the market. Due to some weapons required for this Trade Up being impossible to get in the highest conditions, the outcome might not even be in Factory New, costing thousands of dollars.

But he attempted it anyway, 16.67% chance for success, and of course, he gets it.

This skin has a marked value of around $6000, according to CSfloat. So combined he made approximately $45000 in Counter-Strike 2 skins. If there are potential buyers for those skins and xQc wants to sell them, they will most likely pay far more than market value, since xQc unboxed them. Yet, the skins he put into the contract cost a lot of money as well. Approximately 15 grand was spent on those 3 Trade Ups alone.

But let's be honest, it's xQc. His bank account wouldn't mind having $30k more or less on it. He doesn't need to care about the money, he has more than enough. But if you don't, don't spend it on Chests and Trade Ups, the odds are favored heavily against you.
