Fortnite fans are looking forward to the release of Chapter 5 Season 1. We've got all the news and rumors about the recent changes, including start date, live event and the map of the popular Battle Royale.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 may be at its peak right now, but big things are in store for us in December and fans are hyped!
Let's not dilly-dally any longer and dive into all the leaks, teasers and details we've collected about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 so far. And don't worry, as soon as there is more news, we will of course update this article for you.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: Start Date
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 started on August 25 and ends on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 2 AM ET. But before Chapter 5 kicks off, we're in for a 1-month mini-season that brings the Chapter 1 map back to Fortnite.
Then, in early December, Chapter 5 starts with a completely new map. We assume that the mini-season will be also a preparation for the new chapter and will be filled with many story elements.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: News & Leaks
You know Fortnite's dataminers. They're constantly digging and digging into the codes, pulling out one leak after another. And we're here for you to collect them.
Fortnite: End Of Season Live Event
So far, we don't know for sure if there will be a live event for the Chapter 4 finale, but chances are looking pretty good. After all, it has never happened before that there was no live event at the end of a chapter.
We don't know what will happen yet, but something will happen that will destroy the current map and make a new one appear. Maybe the story with the Seven will finally continue as well.
Fortnite x Lego Crossover
One of the biggest crossovers this Season will be the Fortnite x Lego crossover. Insiders claim that the Lego collaboration will even be so big that it could be considered a new Season on its own.
Car Racing Mode With Its Own Battle Pass
Another big new feature will be the new car racing mode. Codenamed “DelMar,” the new car racing mode is said to be listed as both a competitive and casual playlist. The mode is also said to feature a garage with vehicle customization and cosmetics, which can be accessed directly from the main Fortnite lobby.
In addition, there will be a dedicated Battle Pass for the mode!
Helicopters Are Returning
According to HYPEX, Epic Games have updated Fortnite's helicopters. You get a rocket launcher that fires every 2 seconds, dealing 35 damage to players and 450 damage to structures.
With that, it is very likely that they will return in Chapter 5 Season 1.
First Person Mode
According to a tweet from our favorite Fortnite leaker HYPEX, who has always been a reliable source of Fortnite leaks and news in the past, Epic Games has started developing a first-person camera mode.
In the meantime, more files have been found that clearly point to a first-person view. Whether this will then only be available in special modes or in zero builds is not yet known.
Weapon Mods
It was leaked a while ago that Epic Games was working on weapon mods. Unfortunately, they haven't appeared in the game yet. HYPEX speculates that Epic is still working on finding the perfect way for players to use them, though its related tweet has since been deleted. Who knows, maybe weapon mods will finally come into play in Chapter 5 anyway.
Flying Mounts
A slightly older Twitter post from HYPEX also states that Epic is working on “rideable, flying animals” for Fortnite. Apparently, players will be able to boost the animal for more speed and fly on “idle”. Idling would likely mean the mount could hover in the air to allow players to shoot more accurately or throw items. Earlier, an item that looked like a saddle in Fortnite was leaked. Presumably, this item could be related to the flying mounts.
However, we assume that the flying mounts will only come into the game in a later season.
Chapter 5 Season 1 Map Changes & New POIs
With Chapter 5 Season 1, the Fortnite map will change completely once again! Unfortunately, nothing is known about the new Fortnite map yet, but there are already exciting concepts that we can follow.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: Battle Pass Skin Leaks
Unfortunately, nothing is known about the new Battle Pass of Chapter 5 Season 1, but Epic often sends out skin surveys to the players, from which usually 1-2 skins appear in each season in the Battle Pass.
In addition, players suspect that in the next season, One Piece could finally come to Fortnite!
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass: New Weapons & Items
What would a new season be without new weapons and items? So far, there has never been a season, and especially not a new chapter, in which not a single new weapon has been added. Also, as always, a few old favorites will return to the game. But nothing is known about that yet.
