A recent leak suggests a specific release date for the Elden Ring DLC "Shadow of the Erdtree". Apparently, it will be officially announced at the Game Awards. Here's everything we know.
Elden Ring was the hit game of 2022 and while it's got a vast world with never-ending adventure, there is more content in the works for the game which has fans pretty excited. A DLC called "Shadow of the Erdtree" is in the works and thanks to a recent leak, we finally have a specific release date.
Elden Ring DLC: Release Date To Be Announced At The Game Awards
A leaker by the name of Ziostorm posted on X that Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on February 5, 2024. According to him, this release date will be officially announced at The Game Awards, which will take place on December 7, 2023.
Unverified sources are telling me that Elden Ring DLC is planned to be shown at The Game Awards with a release date of February 5th, 2024.

These sources have shown signs of insight, but nothing concrete. Consider this just a rumor for now. pic.twitter.com/KI1mQIfzMs
However, you should consider this release date a rumor for now, since there have been many other rumored release windows for the first Elden Ring DLC in the past.
One of them was revealed by a recent financial report from Kadokawa Corporation, which owns FromSoftware. According to the report, Kadokawa doesn't feature the Elden Ring DLC in their plans for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2024. This would suggest that Shadow of the Erdtree will be released in April 2024 or later in the year.
A similar release window was also suggested by Bandai Namco Europe CEO Arnaud Muller in an interview with Games Industry. So we can't say for sure, which release date or window is the right one, however, we really hope for a release in February. After all, Elden Ring was released in February 2022, so a release exactly two years after the main game would be fitting.
