Ubisoft has made it very clear already that AC Mirage will not have the usual XP system that you might be used to from Assassin's Creed Odyssey or other games. You'll still be able to level up, it's just that you won't have to farm for XP to do so.

AC Mirage: How To Get Skill Points
Assassin's Creed Mirage offers you four ways to get skill points. You won't be able to farm for XP by beating up enemies like in other games, but instead you'll have to fulfill different objectives that will grant you skill points and levels as a reward.
Main Missions
One of the most effective ways to get skill points is by completing story quests. The story quests are basically the main missions in AC Mirage. Completing these will help you level up quickly, which will in turn provide you with a bunch of skill points that you can then use.
World Contracts
Contracts in Assassin's Creed Mirage are basically side missions that you can take on, that will also give you a lot of skill points.
Not every side mission will grant you skill points upon completion. All you have to do to find out which side missions will give you skill points is open up your map menu and hover over your mission icons. Those missions that have a diamond-like symbol next to them will give you points when you complete them.
Some assassination missions, especially the bigger ones, will also give you skill points.
Collectibles
Another way you can get skill points is by gathering collectibles. There are three different collectibles that you'll want to look for that will give you skill points, namely Lost Books, Mysterious Shards, and Dervis’ Artifacts. You can find them by using your compass. The collectibles will appear as golden icons. Each collectible that you find will give you one skill point.
Tales of Baghdad
The Tales of Baghdad won't give you a ton of skill points, but they also aren't as time intensive as searching for collectibles or taking on missions.
They're short little side quests where Basim is needed to help around the city of Baghdad. The most interesting part about the Tales of Baghdad quests are that they touch on iconic cultural topics of the era.
If you want to find out more about this era and especially about Baghdad, you can use the History of Baghdad feature and learn more about it. Plus, there might even be a special bonus waiting for you if you complete it.
