Dead by Daylight plans to bring plenty of spooky content to the table all throughout October 2023.

October 3

To start off the event, the Dead by Daylight team has released new Halloween themed Haunted by Daylight merch! You can check it out on the official website of the Dead by Daylight store, if you're interested.

October 11

Starting on October 11, things really get interesting for DbD players! October 11 marks the beginning of the new Tome: COMMITMENT. You can unlock new charms and outfits for characters such as The Oni, Feng Min, The Dredge and Adam Francis. The Tome also includes memories for The Oni and Feng Min, so make sure to start the new Tome as soon as it comes out!

October 13

I think it's destiny that Friday the 13th just so happens to fall perfectly into October this year. The calendar makers just knew we need some extra scares in 2023.

The Dead by Daylight team saw their chance and decided to celebrate October 13 with a livestream that will show us what we can expect from the Haunted by Daylight event, once it starts.

Plus, the developers have also said that they've "arranged for an epic surprise that will explore the world of Dead by Daylight like never before". Spoilers: we're entering the Void Realm. Stick around to find out more!

October 18

October 18 is when the fun really begins. The Haunted by Daylight event will start on this day, which will add a new event Tome to the game, as well as the unsettling Void Realm, and a bunch of tricks and treats for us to find.

Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to play during the event, since it will go on until November 6. During the event, you'll also get daily rewards, so make sure to open up Dead by Daylight every day!

Of course, to fully get in the spirit of Halloween, you'll need the right costume! Thankfully, Behaviour is not only bringing all the old Halloween costumes back to the DbD shop, but also a bunch of new Halloween themed cosmetics, such as Void Touched and Tricks and Treats.

If you're not big into costumes, but still want to show your Halloween spirit, DbD has brought back the Cats & Dogs collection with many new outfits for Jake Park, Haddie Kaur, Vittorio Toscano, Jonah Vasquez, Yun-Jin Lee, and Kate Denson.

October 24

This is probably one of the most anticipated parts of the Haunted by Daylight event: the release of the new Hallowed Blight Skins! Mark the date into your calendar to make sure you don't miss these sickening skins.

Dead by Daylight Halloween Event: Blight Skins

If there's one thing that we all can't wait for when this time of the year starts, it's the Hallowed Blight skins! They've always looked absolutely incredible, so the only question that actually remains is: which Killers and Survivors are getting the Hallowed Blight skins this year? It's The Xenomorph, The Onryō, and Yoichi Asakawa.

The concept art that has been released for The Onryō and Yoichi Asakaw already looks insane! I just can't wait to see what's in store for The Xenomorph!

Dead by Daylight Halloween Event: News

The devs of Dead by Daylight have just announced what they've planned for their "epic surprise": we'll be entering the Void Realm this year!

If you've ever wondered where Survivors and Killers go whenever they're not stuck on a map with a bunch of gens and hooks, they're hanging out in the Void Realm.

For the first time ever in Dead by Daylight, we'll be able to explore the Void Realm during matches, while also bringing some spooky features from the Void Realm over to the regular maps.

During this year's Halloween Event, we'll be gathering not only Void Energy, but also Void Orbs. With the help of these items and some Unstable Rifts all across the map, we'll eventually be able to enter the Void Realm, once the Rifts' turn into portals.

The Void will close either after two minutes or once all the Haunts have been released on to the map. What are Haunts you say? Well, Haunts are the spirits of those that were drained and discarded by the Entity. If you give them 12 Void Energy, you can release them on to the map, both as a Survivor and as a Killer.

When the Haunts are released, they'll give a buff to those that released it, first and foremost.

Survivors will gain a boost for a brief duration, consisting of Haste, Endurance, and 20% faster Action Speed. Plus, their held item will also be refilled to 50%.

Killers, on the other hand, will also immediately gain a boost for a brief duration, consisting of Haste, Undetectable, and 20% faster Action and Cooldown speed.

If you encounter a Haunt from someone on your team, you'll get a short Haste boost. The same goes for the Killer that encounters its own Haunt.

Approaching an enemy Haunt will leave you temporarily with the Hindered status effect.

Of course, what would Halloween be without pumpkins? We'll get to smash them again this year, and we'll get either the Haste Status Effect, the Hindered Status Effect, or nothing at all, once again.

There's a bunch to explore, but I think it's best if you just wait and see for yourself!

Are you excited for the event yet? I can't wait!
