The ESRB rating authority have just revealed a major spoiler for Assassins's Creed Mirage. If you're ready for some spoilers, keep reading for a glimpse into the journey of Basim.
With Assassin's Creed Mirage slowly approaching, Ubisoft have already released plenty of information about the next installment of the AC franchise. So far, they've told us about the main character Basim Ibn Ishaq, they've impressed us with their commitment to historical accuracy, and they've given us fairly significant insights into the story.
Speaking of story, the ESRB rating website hints at a major story spoiler with a twist that very few will see coming.

It was obvious from the first gameplay footage we saw of Mirage that Ubisoft were trying to return to the roots of the Assassin's Creed franchise, while also revealing the secrets about Basim's arrival in AC Valhalla. The ESRB rating authority have given Mirage a "Mature 17+" warning for content with blood, gore, drug references, intense violence and strong languages. But in ESRB's description of why they gave Mirage a Mature rating, they revealed a major story detail:
As you can see, they describe how "Players use swords, daggers, arrows and a concealed blade to kill soldiers, fellow assassins, and boss characters". This could imply that Basim will betray the brotherhood at one point.
Are we on to something? Because this little hint already got deleted from the ESRB page.
Assassin's Creed Mirage: Valhalla Already Seems To Confirm This Spoiler
The ending of AC: Valhalla seems to confirm that Basim harbors a malicious intent towards the Assassin Order, and hence he wanted a "face-to-face-talk" with William Miles. This is where the main Mirage-plot begins to unfold, as they decide Basim should explore his genetic sequences in the Animus.
This revelation is a rather big thing in the world of Assassin's Creed, because we've only ever seen a protagonist intentionally kill a fellow Assassin once. It happened in Assassin's Creed Rogue, and after that it never happened again. But perhaps that will change with AC Mirage...
