The LEC playoffs are almost finished, but it seems that one of the favorites is going to have a slight setback in their next match against Team BDS. Fnatic have just revealed that their current top laner will have to sit out, and bring in a backup top laner.

They've decided to call up none other than veteran player Wunder, who has won multiple LEC titles with G2 Esports, and even made it to the 2019 League of Legends World Championship Finals. What happened though for Fnatic to make this decision?

LoL: Fnatic Top Laner Injured

On August 28, 2023 Fnatic revealed that their top laner Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz Jiménez will have to sit out their next match due to an injury. On Twitter they explained that he suffered a hand injury earlier last week, something which was noticeable during the teams' series against EXCEL.

The injury seems serious enough to warrant surgery, with the young top laner scheduled to have one this week.

In the same tweet, the team also revealed that they will be bringing back none other than Wunder to replace Oscarinin in the top lane. Wunder is a veteran who has played under these pressure situations before, so even if he might not have played much this split, he should have the experience to help lead the team to earn a spot in Montpellier at the LEC finals.

Fnatic will face off against Team BDS on Saturday, September 2, 2023. The game is set to start around 6 pm CEST and will be broadcasted on the official LEC channels on YouTube, Twitch and the lolesports website.
