Valorant: G2 Announces Comeback

It seemed like G2 had left the Valorant scene for good after they disbanded their roster on July 7, until they recently announced their comeback! Take a look at their current roster.

While G2 is a prominent figure in Esports, their recent standing in Valorant has been lacking, with their last significant win in 2021. Roster challenges have plagued them, and the journey to win gold once more remains uncertain. Following the regular season, they let go of their players without announcing any replacements, which sparked rumors of G2's exit from the scene.

Valorant: G2 Takes On The Guard's Former Line-up

The Guard experienced a roller-coaster journey in the Valorant community. After clinching the VCT 2023 Ascension Americas title and securing a two-year term in VCT Americas leagues, their luck took a downturn. On August 29th, it came to light that they wouldn't take part in the 2024 Americas League due to a missed deadline while finalizing the Team Participation Agreement.

Shortly thereafter, all team members were released from their contracts. This unfortunate event for The Guard became a fortunate opportunity for G2, who were eagerly scouting for a promising team. On September 22nd, G2 onboarded neT, valyn, trent, JonahP, JoshRT, and Seowulf.

The team is still shaping up, with only four active players confirmed. Word on the street is that Jawgemo has been trying out for the team and might join the squad soon. Below is the present roster, including potential future additions.

Another contender rumored for G2 is "leaf", who left Cloud9 about two weeks ago. G2 tryouts have reportedly included him, and the final decision now rests with G2's leadership. Jawgemo probably remains their top target, but the ongoing contract debacle with EG might delay their final verdict.

Until then, G2 can lean on Shahzam, their Content Creator, as a potential substitute. Shahzam continues to shine on his streams and might be a valuable asset for G2, especially if the ongoing issues with EG linger.
