The actor that played Peter Parker in both Spider-Man 2 and its original, Yuri Lowenthal, addresses the controversy regarding the face change of his character.
Spider-Man 2 is right around the corner and the game will feature Peter Parker's face change, that got a lot of backlash when the remaster for the previous game first revealed the new look to public back in 2020. Now, Peter Parker actor Yuri Lowenthal has taken a stance, addressing the controversial face change by telling fans to “get over it”.
Insomniac's original Spider-Man game was a huge success for the studio and was well received all across the board by fans of the franchise. When Marvel's Spider-Man made the jump from PS4 to next gen consoles back in 2020, that came a lot of changes to fit the new possibilities of the PS5 . One of these changes was the controversial face change to Peter Parker, which fans weren't too stoked about.

Spider-Man 2 will release later this year, and Yuri Lowenthal is back once again to bring the iconic superhero to our screens. One thing that will apparently also remain is the change in Peter Parker's appearance, and there's a good reason for this!
In an Interview witch ComicBook.com, Lowental addressed the controversial face change, telling fans to “get over it”, as the change was apparently necessary to improve facial animations and therefore his performance.
The performance was the same for me. I got over it as soon as they said 'Hey, we wanna make this change so that the facial animation is better.' I said 'I'm all in!' I don't care if he looks like a goblin, if my performance is better, than I'm in.
Even though Lowenthal is happy that fans were able to emotionally connect with his performance, therefore getting upset at the change, hat this point he is just tired of the conversation and wants fans to "get over it".
The reason, fans got that upset at the change to begin with is probably connected to the fact that they were introduced to the character and then had to adjust to the new model. So maybe it won't be the same with Spider-Man 2, as the game will feature the new face for Peter Parker from the very beginning of the game.
