Riot just released their most champion roadmap in which they outlined the upcoming LoL champions. While there were some we've known about, like the upcoming Ink Mage – who now got a name – there were also a few surprises. One of them is a new creature champion.

While most creature champions have been on the scary or grotesque side of things, this time around we're going to be getting something cute. Hopefully its gameplay won't be as obnoxious as the last 'cute creature' Riot released, which was Yuumi. So, who is the new champion fans are egg-static for?

While the next champion will be a mid lane mage, we're also going to be getting a new "small" creature champion. In the October Champion Roadmap, Lexi "Lexical" Gao revealed that we are going to be getting a young new dragon champion.

Sure, we've got Aurelion Sol who was released back in 2016 who is a space dragon, but it seems this time we're getting a real life fire-breathing dragon sometime in 2024. This also works perfectly with the Chinese New Year, since we're heading into the year of the dragon.

The dragon champion has been teased to possess some type of fire abilities, with references to 'fire breathing' as well as 'smoldering' being used to describe the champion.

It's also explained that while he is young, he isn't as small as you might think, since dragons are pretty big even when they are just born. For now though, they are still just a small egg that is ready to hatch... at least according to the champion roadmap.

Unfortunately there is not much more information on the champion yet, but we can expect him to be released sometime early 2024, with the Ink Mage, Hwei, getting added to the League of Legends lineup before then.
