LoL Players Demand Riot To Make Key Change To Stop Players From Inting With New Champs In Ranked

Some Legaue of Legends players are sick and tired of new champions ruining their games and are suggesting some radical changes, but will these truly help them win ranked games?

New champions can be the bane of any League of Legends player's existence. Why? Because players feel the need to pick them right away in their first game when they are released, hoping to go 30/0 on the champion, only to be gravely mistaken.

Well, now some players demand a change in the system to stop players from ruining ranked games right when a new champion is released, but are those the right suggestions and will there even be any changes from the player base?

You've all been there. You want to play some ranked right after the release of a brand-new champion, only to have someone pick them without ever having looked over their abilities or so much as a trailer. What will happen? A quick and painful defeat after which everyone is going to be pretty god-damn salty.

Well, some players seem to have gone through too many games like this with the recent release of Briar that they're now asking Riot to ban brand-new champions from ranked within the first week or so that they're available. Their hope is that players will go through the champions kit or play them in normals to get a feel for them.

But, as others have also pointed out on Reddit, blocking champions from ranked play for a certain amount of time likely won't solve this issue at all. Reddit user Inside_Explorer described it perfectly, writing that "a large portion of the players who play ranked only play ranked and never go into normals, so if new champions are disabled for X amount of time the ranked players will just wait it out while playing other champions and then first time the new champion anyway after they're enabled."

There is a large part of the League of Legends player base that will only play ranked and only thinks the game is fun when there are high stakes like in solo queue, hence why they won't play anything else. Therefore, it seems pointless to try and restrict certain champions in the game mode.

So while some players might hate the new champions and that they could ruin their games, restricting them in ranked for their first week isn't the right option. If you're that worried for a first-time Briar or Naafiri player in your ranked games you'll just have to ban the champions instead.
