LoL Patch 13.18: OP Champion Receives Much-Needed Adjustments After Becoming A Literal Monster

One champion was dubbed the biggest winner of LoL Patch 13.17, with a win rate higher than anyone else across multiple roles, it's time for this OP pick to be reigned in.

LoL Patch 13.17 had some pretty interesting balance changes, with multiple bruiser items receiving some changes, while also adding in some more changes to champions which have helped catapult them into the top tier.

This means that some champions might have overshot a little and Riot is going to have to backtrack on some decisions, especially if they don't want to deal with some champions gaining 100% presence at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship. Players want variety, right? So in LoL Patch 13.18 one OP champion specifically is getting some big nerfs.

Finally, Riot is going to be nerfing none other than Tryndamere who has become one of the best champions in the entire game. In LoL Patch 13.17, his attack range was adjusted, along with his attack damage, which was lowered. But the changes still had a huge upward effect on him, making Tryndamere the biggest winner of LoL Patch 13.17.

In the top lane, Tryndamere's win rate went from around 49% all the way to almost 51%. His pick rate also shot up, tripling. He had a measly pick rate of around 1.7%, now it went up to almost 6%. That's just insane. He went from being a mid-tier top lane champion to now being the talk of the town in the S+ tier.

Usually, with other champions, having such a drastic increase in pick rate could stagger the win rate, but let's be real, Tryndamere is so simple even my grandmother can play him. So it isn't hard to play this champion, especially after these high quality adjustments.

Tryndamere in the mid lane also saw quite the jump, from a 0.2% pick rate with a 52% win rate, to 1.1% pick rate and almost 54% win rate.

What has also helped Tryndamere become such a menace in League of Legends are his runes. Since he loves Lethal Tempo, stacking it with the added attack range is much easier than before. Oh, and then you get even more attack range thanks to the rune when it's fully stacked.

So now, in the upcoming LoL Patch 13.18, Riot is going to be taking some steps to tone down Tryndamere's win rate. Whether it's through another nerf to his damage, or by reducing his attack range is yet to be seen.
