Different game modes need different updates, adjustments and changes. This is especially true for League of Legend, since there is a multitude of game modes and all of them differ significant from each other. Different champions and items are strong in these modes and so the devs have to balance them, according to the mode.

Now, Riot has to react to a certain item, that puts out huge amounts of damage in the Arena Mode, even tho the item is rarely seen in any other mode in League of Legends.

LoL Patch 13.16: Hotfix for Zeke's Convergence In Arena Mode

All Arena players out there can rest peacefully know, since Riot hot fixed one of the most overpowered Items in the game mode now. According to "Madness Heroo", LoL Game Designer on the Modes Team, Zeke's Convergence will get a harsh nerfed. Especially in the damage department, the devs had to react, since according to Madness Heroo himself, the item has, "been outputting some pretty crazy damage numbers"

And this is how the devs are nerfing Zeke's Convergence

The item's damage so far was : 50 - 100 (based on level) (+2.5% HP) (+15% AP), and as you can see this sounds like a great item for AP tanks, which have already dominated the Arena Mode so far. Now Riot has nerfed these stats to: 30 - 70 (based on level) (+1.5% HP) (+20% AP), so the damage output gets lowered a lot.

Whether these changes are enough to balance the item in the Arena Mode will be seen, or more fitting "felt". But it's a step in the right direction. And of course it's nice to see, that the devs ares till working on the mode, event though it was announced, that the mode will be gone after the end of the Soul Fighter Event.

This could be a sign, for a return of the Arena Mode in the foreseeable future and the devs already announced, that they want to continue the balancing of the mode. Of course, we will keep you up-to-date if more information regarding buffs and nerfs for the Arena Mode, or even the reintroduction of the mode are official.
