Nintendo Will Continue To Release New Switch Games For Quite Some Time

The Nintendo Switch is probably one of the most popular consoles, that have been released during the last few years. Especially for casual gamers it was and is to this day very well suited because of its super practical handheld mode. But how will the future for the switch and its games look like?

When thinking about Nintendo, many people remember their childhood and how they used to play Mario Party with their friends. On the other hand, many also think of the hefty price tag all Nintendo games come with!

This is especially painful after a new version drops, and you have to buy not only the new console, but also the super expensive games! So, is it still worth buying a Nintendo Switch in 2023, and for how long will we still receive new games for the original Switch?

Nintendo Will Continue To Release New Switch Games

Since the Nintendo Switch has really been around for a few years now, released in 2017, the fear that the console could soon be dropped by Nintendo is justified, especially since there is already chatter about the Switch 2.

Fortunately, Nintendo is pretty open about their future plans regarding the new Switch 2, but more importantly, how the original version will be handled.

Since the new Switch 2 is rumored to get released in 2024, many players fear that Nintendo will stop making new games for the original Switch. Luckily, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has confirmed, that the existing Switch won’t be left behind in the near future and that there will be new releases until 2025, which are already in the making!

At least until March 2024, Shuntaro Furukawa said, releasing new Switch games is their highest priority until we can expect the Switch 2 release during the second half of the year. He makes clear, that even if the current Switch lifecycle is pointing towards an end, there are still tons of games for us to explore in the near future!

That sounds pretty promising if you ask me! Especially, since the latest Nintendo Direct livestream gave us a sneak peek at the new “SPY x ANYA: Operation Memories” game, which will be in store in 2024. (I really can't wait to pet Bond!)
