A recent leak claims to know a release date and the price for the Nintendo Switch 2. Apparently it will be more expensive than its predecessor and come in two editions.
The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017, so it isn't exactly up to date anymore. Especially if compared to the PlayStation or Xbox, the Switch is in desperate need of a technical upgrade. Lucky for us, Nintendo is already hard at work on the Nintendo Switch 2 and thanks to a well-known leaker we now also have a rumored release date and price. Let's have a look at when the Switch 2 will be released and how much we will have to pay for it.
Nintendo Switch 2 Leaked Release Date & Price
According to a recent leak, the Nintendo Switch 2 is supposed to be released on September 24, 2024 with a fallback release date on November 3. Furthermore, the leaker claims that there will be two different versions of the Nintendo Switch 2, a digital-only version for $400 and a standard edition for $449.
Admittedly, this all sounds pretty great, but can we trust the information? The source of this information is a leaker named SoldierDelta, who shared the above information about the Nintendo Switch 2 on a Discord server belonging to The Snitch. The Snitch has a great track record with credible leaks to their name, which also gives the latest Switch 2 leaks at least some credibility. However, you should still take everything with a grain of salt, since none of the leaks have been officially confirmed by Nintendo so far.
If the leaker is right, the Switch 2 will be about $100 more expensive than the original Switch . Let's just hope the hardware upgrades will be worth that price.
