That League of Legends teams stay together for a long time is a rarity. Very often, after one season, teams will shuffle around at least one or two players ahead of the upcoming split to try and improve their roster.

Ahead of the 2023 LoL season, T1 did no such thing, keeping the same five players together to try and win a World Championship. But could this finally be the end of the road?

T1 is probably the most well-known League of Legends org in the world, with star player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok as their in-game leader. The team built around him is full of talent that has risen to superstars as well throughout their careers.

Last year, the team managed to make it to the MSI and World Championship finals, falling short each time. So, this could be the final try for the South Korean roster before some players head off to other teams and experiences.

In a recently, T1's bot laner Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong, answered some questions. When he was asked about his resolution for the 2023 World Championship on home soil he stated that winning worlds with this exact team would be a dream come true.

I know fans might not like me saying this, but I think it might be the last Worlds we play as this roster. In a way, it could be a successful conclusion, I think it (this Worlds) is more meaningful because I want to win the championship with this team.

Of course, there had been rumors about this being the final year for this iteration of T1, but for fans it's still a tough pill to swallow. Faker's contract will run until 2025, and jungler Moon "Oner" Hyeon-jun also has a contract until 2024.

For top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je and the bot lane, anything could change going into the 2024 League of Legends off-season. Winning a World Championship in the tenth debut year of Faker would be a great way to cap things off for this iconic roster though, right?
