Do you like LEGO? How about Animal Crossing? If you answered "Yes" to both, then I have some amazing news for you today: Nintendo released a short teaser trailer on X (formerly Twitter) on October 5 showing off a collaboration between the two.

In case you have never heard of either, allow me to fill you in: LEGO is an incredibly popular brand of toy building bricks. They were originally designed for children, but their appeal is definitely not lost on adults!

People have built some pretty insane things with just the base kits (any famous building you can think of probably already has a to-scale LEGO model of it out there). The Lego Group has realized as much in recent years and released a variety of sets aimed at older audiences, including collaborations with franchises like Star Wars and Super Mario .

Joining them now is Animal Crossing, a pretty unique series of sandbox life simulation games that has you move into a small village inhabited by cute animal villagers and work towards paying off an ever-increasing mortgage. The first game in the series was a bit of a hidden gem, while the latest game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons , shattered all previous franchise sales records and quickly became a bestseller on the Nintendo Switch.

A toy building bricks brand and a sandbox life sim seem like a good match, don't they? Well, clearly Nintendo and the Lego Group thought so too! There isn't a lot to be gleaned from 11 seconds of trailer footage, of course, but front and center in it is a collection of new LEGO figurines of some of the most popular Animal Crossing villagers.

We'll likely have to wait a while for any further details, since the teaser didn't even include a release window. That said, I would be surprised if the collaboration won't also include building kits of some iconic Animal Crossing buildings like Nook's Cranny and the Museum.

Once more information about the collaboration is released, we will of course share them here ASAP.
