Sam is probably the most talked about Honkai Star Rail character as of right now. There are just a few things we know for sure about them and the rest of it is pure speculation. However, a newly leaked dialogue option lightens up at least some of the mystery.
We have already talked a lot about Honkai Star Rail's Stellaron Hunter Sam and took a deeper dive into his lore. But there is one thing in particular, which stayed a huge secret for the longest time.
We already know that HoYoverse is not good at keeping secrets, and even Sam's ones don't seem to be safe anymore. Now we finally know, who hides behind the name “Sam”.

For the fact that Sam is an extraordinary story-relevant character, one knows actually only little about him! There are, as always, a lot of theories but what really reflects the truth is hard to tell at this point.

Firefly – The Molten Knights Pilot
Just as in the first theory, Firefly is an essential part of Sam's character. For the longest part, players thought, that Firefly might be Sam's summon, just like Svarog is for Clara!

Turns out, HoYoverse did not actually copy and paste their own homework and gave it another name! A newly leaked piece of lore finally solved the mystery about the armored fighter!
Sam is in fact Firefly herself. — Yep, you read that right! The one hiding inside this huge battle suit is actually the cute little girl! (At least appearance wise.) The story surrounding Firefly's past is still pretty unknown, however it seems to be quite dark. Firefly herself is the first product of genetic modification in the world of Honkai Star Rail.
She was created for one singular purpose: To pilot the Molten Knight Sam.

Who knows what she had to endure in order to live up to the role which was given to her. If she was meant to be part of the Stellaron Hunters to begin with, is unfortunately not yet known. If so, the Stellaron Hunter Elio is definitely responsible for that!
Personally, I am super excited to learn more about them in the near future, and they look like a potential new addition to my character roster if I'm being honest!
