Honkai Star Rail: HoYoverse Updated The Auto-Battle But Forgot The Most Broken Unit

Since Honkai Star Rail is a turn-based gatcha game, HoYoverse decided to add an auto battle function, which is super useful especially when doing your daily grind! However, if you are trying to use said feature to clear the MoC, you will definitely stumble across some weird decisions and interactions.

After players noticed some super strange decisions made by the auto battler in Honkai Star Rail, HoYoverse finally managed to update said feature in the most recent version 1.3! So that means, that the auto battler is working just as intended, right?

Well, almost I guess? Most units are working absolutely great in auto mode after the latest patch, but it feels like HoYoverse forgot to tackle one or two characters completely …

Who needs skill points anyway, right?

Honkai Star Rail: HoYoverse Finally Updated The Auto Battler

In the most recent version update for 1.3, HoYoverse decided to give the auto battler some love and affection. To the delight of many Honkai Star Rail players, this update has improved many units and interaction, avoiding illogical moves for the most part.

Check out the most notable changes down below!

Unfortunately, it seems like HoYoverse forgot about some of their very own characters, who have not gotten any adjustments at all. This is particularly annoying when among them is one of the most used and loved units ever!

Honkai Star Rail: The Auto Battle Still Hates These Units

There are two units, who are especially painful to play:

Silver Wolf

Now you are weak to ICE! And now you are weak to FIRE or maybe back to ICE instead? …

This is what the usual Silver Wolf experience looks like when using her in auto battle mode. Whenever it is Silver Wolf's turn, she will use her skill, which enforces a certain element weakness onto an enemy.

Not only does the choice of said enemy feels super random, the auto battler also uses the skill way too often, eating up all the skill points. And the funniest thing about this interaction is, that she switches the element each turn, means you will never deal consistent damage to your target.

Even though Silver Wolf is probably the strongest support in the entire game, this tool makes her almost unplayable if you don't want to give up the auto battle mode.

Pela

Pela's skill is a super useful ability, since it removes a buff from a targeted enemy, making them weaker. How can the auto battler mess this one up, you may ask? Well … removing a buff is super great but what if there wasn't even a buff in the first place? — Yes, you read that right: The auto battler removes not excising buffs from an enemy.

This is not only SUPER useless, it also makes your skill points disappear, leaving you with a normal-attacking Kafka each and every single round. This is not only highly frustrating, but could also be a reason why you lose your battles.

After ranting about these two auto battle fails, let's take a look at the changes, that actually worked.

Honkai Star Rail: The Auto Battle Update Saved These Units

Luckily, it seems like other characters' auto battle did improve quite a lot after the most recent update. Especially Tingyun and Bronya are acting much more logical and their skill usage is much more ration than before. Tingyun in particular was a complete nightmare to use!

Next to those two, Blade's ultimate works much better now as well! It hardly ever happens that he targets side enemies, which did reduce the AOE effect significantly.

Have you ever tried out Tower of Fantasy? The game got tons of updates as well and is definitely worth to look at if you enjoy gatcha games!

Hopefully HoYoverse will take a closer look at the other characters as well when updating the auto battle the next time. For now, Silver Wolf players have to use their brain in order to make their unit work!
