After the pilot episode was released, it was revealed that Hazbin Hotel would be produced by the by independent entertainment company A24 and would be released on a different streaming platform than YouTube.

We knew pretty much from the get go that it would take some time for Hazbin Hotel to be released. Still, after Vivziepop released a “Happy Anniversary” video for Hazbin Hotel's third anniversary saying “see you in Hell next summer” (meaning summer 2023), fans were a bit disappointed when the show obviously didn't come out this year.

No worries, though, the show wasn't cancelled! Vivziepop just released a new announcement video on September 28, 2023, revealing that Hazbin Hotel is finally coming in January 2024! Get your popcorn ready, folks, because Hazbin Hotel's first season will have 8 beautifully animated episodes for us to feast our eyes upon!

Almost four years after the pilot was released, it's natural to forget the details of the show. Hazbin Hotel, just like Vivienne “Vivziepop” Medrano's other show Helluva Boss, is a very adult themed animated musical series set in Hell.

The pilot episode introduced us to our main cast: Charlie Morningstar, aka the princess of Hell, and the individual who created the Hazbin Hotel. Vaggie, Charlie's girlfriend who helps run the hotel. Angel Dust, the hotel's first rehabilitation subject. Alastor the “Radio Demon”, who shows an interest in Charlie's project thanks to a failed TV presentation about the hotel. Alastor brings along Niffty and Husk to work in the hotel in order to get things running spick and span. At least, we think that's what he's planning.

Charlie created the Hazbin Hotel as a way to stop the annual Hell purge, done by Angels who come down from Heaven (ironic, isn't it) to combat Hell's overpopulation issues.

Instead, Charlie introduces the “Happy Hotel” as a way to rehabilitate sinners in Hell, so they can one day ascend up to Heaven. I wonder what they do to fix their overpopulation issues up there.

Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel will most likely show how Charlie tries to establish the hotel's reputation and the trials and tribulations of making sinners redeem themselves.

Hazbin Hotel: News

Even though Hazbin Hotel hasn't even aired yet, there's already more great news! Hazbin Hotel has already been approved for a second season! We don't know when the second season will actually come out, but it should release quicker than the first season. I hope.

On a less positive note, for those of you that have already watched Hazbin Hotel's pilot episode (possibly over and over again in the last couple of years), you might be a bit disappointed when you hear what's coming next.

Many of the original voice actors of our beloved Hazbin Hotel characters have been replaced, but the good news is that we already know who will be voicing the main characters, and let me tell you – it's a star-studded cast!

We found out about the news through the "Happy Day in Hell" music video that showcased some of the voices for the upcoming series:

Famous actors like Stephanie Beatriz (most famously known for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Encanto) and Keith David (famously known for projects like The Princess and the Frog, Coraline and Halo 2 and 3) are joining the cast, which shows just how insanely big Hazbin Hotel is getting!

Here are the actors that we know are being added to the cast, and who we're pretty sure that they'll be voicing (thanks to Ayy Lmao on YouTube):

  • Erika Henningsen – Charlie
  • Stephanie Beatriz – Vaggie
  • Blake Roman – Angel Dust
  • Amir Talai – Alastor
  • Keith David – Husk
  • Alex Brightman – Sir Pentious
  • Kimiko Glen – Niffty
  • Joel Perez – Valentino
  • Christian Borle – Vox

Of course, we're sad that actors like Michael Kovach, who voiced Angel Dust in the pilot and also did Angel Dust's music video “Addict”, won't be voicing the characters in the official series, but from what we can tell from the "Happy Day in Hell" video, it seems like the new voice actors are doing an incredible job as well and are great fits for the characters!

If you're a masochist that likes to dwell in the past, then take a look at Michael Kovach's amazing previous work and check out the Addict music video for yourself:

There's also an official website for Hazbin Hotel now, where you can pre-order one of three different packages.
