This year marks a new era for FIFA fans. Starting in 2023, the most popular soccer simulator in the world will now be known under a new name: EA Sports FC 24. It's only a matter of a few more days until EA FC 24's official release on September 29, 2023. If you pre-order a copy of EA FC 24's Ultimate Edition, you'll even be able to start playing a week prior to everyone else, thanks to EA FC 24's early access.
Just a few years ago, you couldn't avoid having to buy a physical copy in order to play the newest FIFA title, but thankfully we've got some alternatives nowadays.
One option you can choose from is to buy a digital copy of EA Sports FC for the console of your choice.
These games will often land in digital gaming subscription services like the Xbox Game Pass. But what about EA FC 24? Will the newest FIFA game also be available for Xbox Game Pass, just like its predecessor FIFA 23? We've got the all the answers you are looking for, here.
EA Sports FC 24 on Xbox Game Pass: Availability Check
As confusing as this may seem: EA Sports FC 24 will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a short while, then it will be taken down, and then it will probably be available yet again. Let's get some facts straight first:
- If you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, or an EA Play subscription, you'll be able to play EA Sports FC on September 22 for 10 hours, for free. According to Microsoft, this trial phase will only last for this day.
- Besides this exception, EA FC 24 will not be available on Game Pass, for an indefinite period of time.
- Nonetheless, it's still pretty likely that EA Sports FC 24 will be available on Xbox Game Pass sooner or later, just not as soon as the game is launched.

Long story short: The new FIFA game will not be available on Xbox Game Pass beyond the 10-hour trial period. The reason for that is pretty obvious: EA wants us to buy the game at its normal price point or the game's Ultimate Edition, instead of being able to play the game at a relatively cheap price with the Xbox Game Pass. This is pretty much standard procedure for most games in order to garner maximum revenue.
EA FC 24 on Xbox Game Pass: Release Date Expectations
We're pretty optimistic that EA FC 24 will eventually be added to the Xbox Game Pass library – just at a later point in time, as was the case for FIFA 23 and other previous titles.
FIFA 23 was added to the Xbox Game Pass in mid-May and the year before that, FIFA 22 was added in June. So, EA Sports FC 24 should probably also be added to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at the beginning of Summer 2024. As soon as we find out more, we'll let you know!
