LoL Arena is the new League of Legends game mode and it even got ranks. Here, we'll explain the LoL Arena ranking system, including all the different tiers you can reach in the new game mode.
LoL Arena has a ranked mode. This was done to keep players engaged with the unique and new game mode. Now the tiers in LoL Arena aren't the same as on Summoner's Rift and if you're confused whether you're the equivalent of Iron or Challenger could be difficult.

LoL Arena Ranks: The Ranking System Explained
The LoL Arena mode comes with it's very own and unique ranking system. This system resembles that of the League of Legends ranked ladder, but there are some key differences, with whole new tiers that you could only dream of in League of Legends.

Unlike in LoL where you've got ten ranks – with the inclusion of Emerald in the second split of 2023 – you've only got five ranks in LoL Arena. Of those five ranks, two are brand-new categories that don't exist on Summoner's Rift.
- Wood
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Gladiator
Wood and Gladiator, the bottom and top ranks of LoL Arena are new additions to the game mode, though many League of Legends players believe Wood-elo should have been added to Summoner's Rift a long time ago.
Wood is basically the Iron of LoL Arena. Most players will start off here and have to fight their way to the top. Due to there only being five tiers, a much larger part of the player base is Wood compared to Iron in League of Legends.

Gladiator is basically the Master+ rank in LoL Arena. This is where the best players meet to play insane matches with high quality mechanics and gameplay. Nothing like the clown fiestas we see in Wood elo.
Can You Play Normals In LoL Arena?
Normal games are a key part of League of Legends, where players can pick fun new champions without having to worry about their rank in solo queue. Unfortunately, Riot did not have time to create a normal, unranked, queue for LoL Arena.
The modes team wanted to release the game mode along with the Soul Fighter event and give players a new experience, which is why some features had to be left out of the release, like a normal game mode or even custom games. These are all things Riot will add in the future though, as they have revealed.
Ranking Up In LoL Arena: It's This Easy
Since you can only play ranked mode in LoL Arena, you'll want to at least try your best every single time, so you won't let down your duo partner. But, how exactly do you rank up in LoL Arena so you can finally play against some tougher opponents?
The LoL Arena ranking system is similar to the one from Teamfight Tactics. Players who land in the top two of a match will be getting some points for their ranked climb, while those in the bottom two are going to lose points.
Similar to TFT, there are also no ranking series between tiers like there had been in League of Legends previously. Players just have to accumulate enough points to get out of Wood or Bronze to make it to the higher tiers in LoL Arena.
So, to gain higher ranks in LoL Arena you just have to simply win games. The more consistent you are the better as well. Just remember you're going to be facing tougher and better opponents the higher you climb!
LoL Arena Ranks: Will Players Receive Ranked Rewards?
Throughout a League of Legends ranked season, players are able to earn rewards just by playing ranked. At the end of the split players will also earn a unique skin. Depending on your final rank you'll even get a chroma for this specific skin to show off just how far you've come.
LoL Arena does not seem to have a similar system. It seems that Riot did not implement Arena rewards for those who finish within the top percentile of the game mode. So it seems like players are grinding Arena for nothing more than glory and bragging rights.
